My parents ran a curtain manufacturing business, so I spent many afternoons watching them transform rolls of fabric into beautiful curtains and reupholster old couches. This sparked my love for the endless textures and patterns that fabrics offer.

During high school, I started working for an interior decorating company to earn some extra pocket money. I quickly fell in love with the industry and decided to make it my career, enrolling at Calder House of Interior Design.

“I’ve come a far way since playing on piles of fabric off-cuts in my parent’s workshop as a child. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been surrounded by fabrics, which is still my happy place today.”

After graduating, I joined Tyler’s of Rosebank, a company with a rich design history dating back to 1964. I immediately connected with the company’s legacy and the strong relationships it had built with clients.

Jeanette van Ginkel, the owner of Tyler’s, was incredibly generous with her advice and support. Much of my success today is thanks to her mentorship. When Mr. van Ginkel passed away in 2010, the van Ginkel family entrusted me with the business.

In January 2011, Tyler’s Curtains was officially registered. I had big shoes to fill, but as it turns out, I have big feet! This opportunity gave me new inspiration, and Tyler’s became my baby. It was my mission to meet the needs of both existing and new clients with the same dedication and integrity, and I’ve never looked back.

Today, Tyler’s is a full-fledged interior design company, built on my lifelong love for fabrics and the invaluable lessons from my mentors. I love helping people to see their vision become a masterpiece. There’s no better feeling than seeing the thrill a finished project brings and knowing I played a part in bringing the dream to life.

We love what we do and treat every home with respect.
